Cut my lawn today. It was looking kinda ragged. I left it an inch longer than normal hoping that the heat doesn't burn it up too much. Got to cut the back yard tomorrow before it gets hot. WE are planning to go to Branson to see Yakov in September and then again in October to see Noah. Both have rave reviews.
The stock markets are recovering from the pre covid numbers. We are only about 20k from our all time highs. I expect the markets to reach new record highs after Trump is reelected in November if not before. It is quite possible that the new highs will come before mid-September and that would not break my heart.

It hit 105F here yesterday. I had to go out in the heat for an appointment. I didn't not venture out in it again for the rest of the day. Today started out with a crash of thunder and a torrential downpour. It is supposed to be overcast most of the day with temps in the low 80's.

What a difference a year makes. People are now roaming the nation as free citizen without wearing government mandated face diapers. The economy is recovering from government ordered shut down. I am hopful that we the people will never allow our government to compel such bullshit upon us again.

If you were out on the interstate highways this Memorial day weekend you would never have known that we were locked down for the better part of a year. The traffic I encountered was horrendous. I suspect it will get worse as summer wears on. If you are not going at least 5 mph over the limit you are going to get run over.

It has been cool and wet here for the last week or so. My lawn is a pretty green but is getting too long. Hoping it won't rain tonight so I can cut it tomorrow.
The gas prices are creeping up here. It went from $1.69/gal to $2.80 in a month. I have also noted that food and household items are getting smaller but the price isn't changing. An example is one of our summer favorites "Bombpops" have shrunk by at least one third smaller in size than they once were but the price is higher. I guess this will be the norm under this liberal administration. Pay more for less....

I have found a new favorite author. I just finished reading "Black Ice" by Brad Thor. It is in the thriller genre. Their are 19 previous books in the Scot Harvath series. I'll have to see if I can find them on ebay or Amazon. I average reading two novels a month and have read 13 thus far in 2021. I'll go to the goodwill store to see if they have any good books to pick up this week.

well, fall has fallen upon us and the daytime temperatures are 15-20 degrees cooler than last month. I'm enjoying the cooler weather.
Inflation has finally hit here hard. Gasoline has risen to $3.00 a gallon and food prices have soared thanks to the policies of President Dementia Fuck Joe Biden. I expect interest rates to increase dramatically in the next few months which means bond interest rates will climb and I'll start looking for some good tax exempt municipal bonds. I'll get with my guy at Edward Jones to see what's what.
I guess I need to get moving because my yard is yelling, Cut me, cut me...

Well it is autumn in MO and the leaves are covering our front yard. Mama bear and I suit up and proceed to the yard rakes in hand to clean things up. But the cold November winds drove us back into the house posthaste. Brrr!!! I suppose we will try again tomorrow if the winds die down and it doesn't rain/snow on us....

Well winter is here in all of its fury. We had several days of very cold temperatures, a bit of snow and Ice. Now it is warming a bit. We had a chore with raking and burning the fallen leaves but got it done, The holidays are behind us and spring is a mere 58 days away.
I turned 77 in January, but I don't feel a day over 68. Hopefully I will survive another decade or two, but don't want to unless I stay healthy and can remain somewhat active.
Thinking about starting a garden and also not starting a garden as we have to downsize as 3/4ths of an acre and a 2400 sq. ft. house are becoming too much to care for we two septuagenarians. We are considering moving to a smaller house closer to one of our sons.
We would like to travel some this summer but with inflation and gas prices rising it is unlikely that we travel far.
I have rambled long enough. Now I am off to the shower. I might be able to be bathed and groomed before noon if I hurry.
